Skonto Plan Ltd was founded in 1992 as the first company in Latvia which manufactures glazed aluminium products. Today Skonto Plan Ltd has become one of the leading companies in the construction industry in Latvia. The company was expanding gradually; in 1994 the manufacturing of PVCU windows and doors was started which lead to the production of double-glazed units in 1995 and a structural steel factory was opened in 1998. With over 17 years of experience, today we pride ourselves on providing excellent service completing projects of varying complexity.

In 2002, Skonto Plan Ltd has implemented a strict quality management system according to the standards of the ISO 9001:2008. The company also takes great care to ensure appropriate work environment for our employees and continuously encourage their cooperation and efforts to improve their professional qualifications. Highest quality production depends on highly qualified and motivated employees, who are able to find appropriate solutions even for the most challenging constructions and to satisfy each customer request. Since the very beginning Skonto Plan Ltd is also a member of Association of Latvian Window and Door Manufacturers.

In 2011 we have certified the Environment management system according to international standard ISO 14001:2004 and the Occupational Health and work safety system in accordance with standard OHSAS 18001:2007.

 

 

Based on the strong belief that the project development, production of constructions and other related service processes can contribute to more stable, thriving and happier world,  Skonto Plan Ltd has formulated its Environment Policy – has determined to maintain an environment management process locally and globally. In spirit of continuous improvement, we involve all our employees, partners and suppliers in an environmentally-friendly and environmentally responsible processes. Our goal is to continuously improve indicators of our significant aspects of environment during the performance of each production and service provision stage. Wherever it is possible, we choose environmentally friendly materials, we follow to energy efficiency and follow that no harmful substances contact the soil and atmosphere. We are actively looking for possibilities to reduce the potential negative impact on the environment, thus positioning ourselves as a reliable and environmentally responsible construction company.

A safe work environment is an integral part of business, therefore, we commit to ensure a safe and healthy work environment in all workplaces and facilities, to take appropriate measures to prevent accidents and work-related health damage, reduce the work environment risks to a reasonable lower limit.

From the very beginning of its operation, Skonto Plan Ltd has thought about ensuring and sustaining a clean environment, therefore all scrap materials are recycled. All Skonto Plan factories are heated by fire logs which are a natural and renewable resource and is in line with our company’s environment protection policy. Project "Reconstruction of SIA Skonto Plan Ltd production plant” is completed by  achieving high standards of energy efficiency and using environmentally friendly building materials and products, thus contributing to carbon dioxide emission reductions, which is carried out in collaboration with KPFI therefore  solar panels for  production of hot water and electricity will be installed .

During the time we have been operating, the company was exporting its products to Eastern and Western European countries, as well as to Scandinavia.
